Thanks to our Volunteer Program, awesome people (lay persons, students, pre vet and vet students) don’t just gain valuable experience, but this program funds a large portion of our projects per year. Thanks to Erica Henriksen, our Lephalale Project volunteer, we were able to vaccinate, deworm, dip and sterilise hundreds of animals in the rural impoverished areas outside Lephalale. These communities have a high unemployment rate and their animals have no veterinary care available. Truly making a difference, Thank You Erica and her Family!
Thank you Lephalale SPCA, SA Military Paramedics, Lephalale Fire Brigade, Lephalale Fm Radio , Waterberg Environmental Justice Forum, Avis Car Rental, Fahad Game Reserve and each and every one contributing to this successful project.
Although the people in this community literally live off other people’s garbage, their animals are loved and in good condition. The Lephalale SPCA does a great job monitoring and assisting with this pack. Most of these dogs arrive at the dump site because of irresponsible people dumping them…leaving their lives in the hands of the poorest of poor….but at least these people will share their last bread crumb and provide the love the the animals need. It is a privilege to help this community!
